How to manage ad sets
Updated on 2026-08-26
Applies to: AdWing campaigns
Edit an ad set's budget, targeting and other settings, then push or discard your changes.
Before you start
- None
Steps
- Go to Campaigns, click into a campaign, then open its Ad Sets.
- Click Sync from Meta first if you want the latest data.
- Click the edit (pencil) icon on an ad set to open the edit drawer.
- Update any of: name, status, budget, dates, targeting, placements, optimisation, billing or bid.
- Click Save. The drawer confirms "Changes saved locally — push to sync with Meta." and the row shows a Pending Push badge.
- Click Push to publish, or Discard to revert.
Result: after a push, changes are live on Meta and the badge clears. After a discard, the ad set reverts to its last-synced state with nothing sent to Meta.
If it doesn't work
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Your edits survive a sync | Correct and intended — sync never overwrites pending edits | No action needed |
| Push doesn't clear the badge | The push failed | Check the Action Log for the error, then retry |
| Pausing an ad set warns about learning | Meta may reset the learning phase on status changes | Expected — weigh it before pausing a performing ad set |
Live-ads warning ⚠️ Pushing publishes to Meta immediately. Changes affect live ads and can spend real budget. Test with items named
test_unless you intend to change live ads.
