How to create a campaign manually
Updated on 2026-08-26
Applies to: AdWing campaigns
Build a campaign step by step, choosing your own objective, audience, budget, schedule and creative.
Before you start
- Your Meta account connected (see Connect your Meta account)
- At least one creative in your creative library for Step 5
Steps
- Go to Campaigns and click New Campaign.
- If the AI draft screen appears, click Fill in manually instead to go straight to the wizard.
- Step 1 — Objective: choose an objective, then Next. Leaving it empty shows "Please select a campaign objective."
- Step 2 — Audience: set name, age, gender, locations and interests, then Next.
- Step 3 — Budget: choose CBO or ABO and set the daily budget, then Next.
- Step 4 — Schedule: set a start date, then Next.
- Step 5 — Creative: select your creatives. If the objective is Traffic or Sales you must also set a Destination URL here — see Set a destination URL.
- Step 6 — Review: check the summary. It states "Saved locally — push to Meta when ready."
- Click Push to publish to Meta.
Result: the campaign, its ad set and its ads are created on Meta.
Live-ads warning ⚠️ Pushing publishes to Meta immediately. Changes affect live ads and can spend real budget. Test with items named
test_unless you intend to change live ads.
If it doesn't work
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Please select a campaign objective." | Step 1 has no objective selected | Select one, then Next |
| Blocked at Step 5 | Objective is Traffic or Sales and no destination URL is set | Add an https:// URL |
| You left the wizard midway | Your progress is kept as a draft | Open Drafts and resume it — the button on New Campaign reads Resume campaign when a draft exists |
| The campaign isn't in your list after pushing | The list may not have refreshed | Click Sync from Meta and check again |
