How to edit ad copy
Updated on 2026-08-26
Applies to: AdWing Ads & creative
Change the headline or body text on an ad and publish the update to Meta.
Before you start
- None.
Steps
- Open the campaign, then the ad set, then the Ads page.
- Click Edit on the ad's row — or click the copy text directly (it's clickable, tooltip "Click to edit copy").
- Update the headline and/or body text.
- Click Save. To abandon the edit instead, click Cancel.
- Click Push. A confirmation asks Push this ad's changes to Meta? — confirm it.
Result: on Save you get "Saved locally. Push to Meta to sync." and a Pending Push badge on the row. After confirming the push you get "✅ Pushed to Meta." and the badge clears.
If it doesn't work
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Save failed: …" | The local save was rejected | Re-open the row, check your text, and save again |
| Nothing happens for several seconds after Push | The service can take 5–10 seconds to wake after being idle | Wait a moment and try again |
| No Pending Push badge after Save | Nothing actually changed, or the save didn't register | Re-open Edit, confirm your text, save again |
| Your edit vanished after Sync from Meta | This shouldn't happen — sync preserves pending edits by design | Report the ad name and what you clicked beforehand |
Live-ads warning ⚠️ Pushing publishes to Meta immediately. Changes affect live ads and can spend real budget. Test with items named
test_unless you intend to change live ads.
